Our German recipe section showcases a variety of original authentic German food recipes, but we'll also put emphasis on German-American variation recipes that were recently created, in addition to old family German recipes that were handed down through the generations.

Food in Germany features a variety of fabulous cooking styles that developed in the various regions of the country over the centuries. The native German cuisine in the northern part of the country is generally thought to be more practicle and perhaps healthier with emphasis on fish from the Baltic and North Sea along with soups, vegetables, wild game, potatoes and grains from the entire northern plains region.

The food in the southern region is widely known of being higher in carbohydrates with emphasis on a variety of pork (including yes sausages), dumplings, spatzle (a thick German noodle), potatoes, creamy sauces and cabbage variations.
